Relationships bind you permanently. The statue was carved as a monument to love, but that glorifying devotion waned as the relationship fell apart. The empty chair is for a routine visitor, though the statue’s posture implies how long they have been waiting. Anyone can step into the shoes of the statue, frozen in the memories, unable to leave the state of loss when the other person doesn’t come back.
